The hot cathode ultraviolet lamp uses tungsten wire as the cathode body, and its surface is coated with low work function metal oxide. During the working life of the hot cathode ultraviolet lamp, the oxide has chemical and electrochemical "poisoning" problems, so the lamp life is generally only more than 4000 hours. The cathode ultraviolet lamp is made of pure metal sheet, and there is no poisoning problem. Therefore, its life span is 5-10 times longer than that of hot-cathode lamp, which can reach more than 20,000 hours.

Ordinary ultraviolet lamps with new lamp radiation intensity greater than 90uW/cm are qualified. The radiation intensity of cold cathode ultraviolet disinfection lamps is more than 200uW/cm, which is generally more than twice that of hot cathode disinfection lamps.
